GREETING Ellen Cook
PSALM 80: 1-7 Gloria Bordeaux-Pacholec
Shepherd of Israel, hear us
You who lead Joseph like a flock!
You who are enthroned on the cherubim, shine out!
Awaken your power to come save!
God of Hosts, we are being fed upon the bread of tears, and being made to drink our tears in such measure; Our neighbors ridicule us. Our enemies treat us with scorn.
We are desperate to be restored. So return to us gracious God, smile upon us and we will be saved!

As we draw closer to home, we are invited to lift up the names of those for whom we have concerns, either aloud or in our hearts in the category that best fits the need:
For any who may be injured, ill, or homebound today.
For any who may be hospitalized or in rehab.
For any who may be in nursing care.
For any who may be suffering in heart or mind.
For any who may be struggling with relationships.
For any who may be struggling with employment.
For any who may be grieving profound loss.
For all these concerns, loving God, we give you thanks both for what healing opportunities may exist on this journey and for the compassion that brings these concerns to mind. Even as we all join together in this ancient prayer…
THE DISCIPLE’S PRAYER
Eternal Spirit,
Source of all Life,
Loving One in whom we discern heaven,
May knowledge of your holiness inspire all peoples,
And may your commonwealth of peace and freedom flourish on earth
Until all of humanity heeds your call to justice and compassion.
May we find the bread that we need for today,
And for the hurts we cause one another
May we be forgiven in the same measure that we forgive.
In times of trial and temptation, help us to be strong;
When life seems overwhelming, help us to endure;
And thus from the yoke of selfishness deliver us.
May your presence reign in human hearts,
Now and forever.
Amen and Amen.
