“The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.” —  Dietrich Bonhoeffer

INVITATION                                                                      Rev. Tom Gough

INTROIT                     Christians, We Have Met to Worship

WELCOME PRAYER                                                                Karen Armor
Holy One of Nazareth, we have seen you calm storms, heal illness, even restore life, and yet we still struggle to trust you. Even as we gather in your name and presence, our hearts are anxious about your call. You hope to send us out, but we would rather stay safely at home. You urge us to find partners for our spiritual journey, but we insist on going it alone. You give us tools to be a healing presence in the world, but we are not sure we want to use them.

In this time and place, Gracious One, come to us as an encouraging spirit yet again. Help us to remember who you call us to be. After all this time in the wilderness we need simply to walk with you once more and refresh our hearts. Drawn to the table of grace, may we be restored to community and to Life. Amen

The Spirit of God surrounds us, maker and sustainer of all life, of sun and moon, of water and earth, of every living thing.

The Spirit of Christ Jesus travels with us, beckoning us ever toward the
Kin-dom of Love and Justice.

The Spirit of Community empowers us, breathing Life into us, bringing healing and hope. May we tune our hearts to this.
