WELCOME PRAYER Dennis Noren

Creator God, in praise and adoration our spirits dance before you today. You have created this wondrous universe and all the magnificent things within it. You have blessed us with so much throughout our lives, even to this day of praise and thanksgiving. Let our spirits soar! Let our hearts sing boldly of your wondrous love. We celebrate your love and presence with us.

Yet, our minds are overloaded and whirling. Our rational minds are leaping from one world event, so often catastrophes and suffering, to the next of fear and injustice. A sense of overwhelming helplessness and anger threatens to engulf us. So, for this moment, O God, still us in our inner being, so we can hear Your voice, gain Your discernment that dispels confusion and fears. Let us seek and find Your peace, not to escape from reality but to give us calm to see things in their proper perspective. Give us simplicity where we have complexity and root us in reality when we are in the grip of fantasy or fear. Give us the peace of Jesus, who found tranquility at the heart of the storm. Amen.
