First Congregational Church of San Jose, where children are welcome!
Children are a priority at First Congregational Church of San Jose. We honor the children among us as a valuable part of our faith community, and design our educational programs to tap into their natural creativity and spirituality. Our Christian Education commitment is to create opportunities for our children’s faith development and understanding of God as Love, and Love as God.

SUNDAY MORNING PROGRAMMING
While services are suspended due to COVID-19, children’s programming has moved to Zoom. Children in first grade and younger meet from 10:45 to 11:15 on Sunday mornings, and children in second through fifth grade meet from 10:30 to 11:00. If you would like to participate, please contact Maryann Coole.
Please join us! Nursery care for infants through 5-year-olds is always available during worship. We have a paging system to contact parents during worship, if necessary.
Over the summer, elementary school children begin and end worship in the Sanctuary with their families. During the scripture and sermon, they are invited to join adult volunteers at a comfortable spot in the gardens just outside the Sanctuary to have age-appropriate conversations about the same Bible passage the adults are studying. Older youth (grade 6 and up) are welcome to assist with the children’s conversation or to remain in worship with the adults.
Kids’ Night Out
The Family Ministry Board hosts our monthly Kid’s Night Out on the first Friday (usually) of every other month from 6–9pm in the Youth Room. All children 5th grade and younger are welcome. Bring a friend!
