Two years ago the Community Services Ministry Team began to foster a relationship with New Haven Inn, San Jose’s LGBTQ+ inclusive homeless shelter. At that time we started a donation drive to collect needed items for New Haven, but it came to a screeching halt in March 2020. Now we’re giving it another try! New Haven Inn is currently in need of the following items:
- Pillows/pillowcases
- Boxers & underwear
- Socks
- Sweatpants/sweatshirts
- Plain T-shirts (white, grey or black)
- Gift Cards: Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, JC Penney’s, Macy’s — $25 increments. (The gift cards are for clients to purchase much-needed interview clothing.)
We’ll be collecting these items at church on March 20 and 27 at a table set up during coffee hour.
Can’t shop? No problem! We’re happy to accept cash or checks and do the shopping for you. Make your check out to FCCSJ and note New Haven Inn on the memo line.
