Hello Team FCCSJ and Friends,
Fall Rebuilding Together Days are coming up, and it is time (at last) for volunteer sign-ups.
Yes, we are having TWO Rebuilding Days: October 17 and October 24. The catch is that only 15 people are allowed to work on any one day, so that we can work with appropriate social distancing and COVID-safe procedures.
House Captain is once again Dave Proulx, and Liz Carey is the Volunteer Coordinator. Added to our Team this Fall is “COVID Captain” Karen Armor, who will oversee the new safety regimen.
Our project is a mobile home in east San Jose, off of Capitol Avenue near McKee. We are only allowed to do OUTSIDE work, so the project breaks down into TWO tasks, one for each work day:
- October 17: Replace an indoor/outdoor deck — skilled workers with power tools
- October 24: Paint the exterior of the home.
You can sign up for either or both of the workdays, and we will sort out who goes where before the actual dates.PLEASE sign up by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2nd! Yes, I know that is less than a week away — now’s the time!
If you want to/need to work only PART of the day, please sign up, and also send Liz an email telling her your preferred time. We work from 8:00 a.m. until we are done, usually 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m.
Thank you for considering this important volunteer commitment for our community.
