Whether you are a believer, a seeker, a person of faith, or one who has no faith at all, you are welcome here.

Céad Míle Fáilte! A hundred thousand welcomes! A wonderful Gaelic expression pronounced (more or less) Kade Mee-la Fault-a and used expansively to suggest the limitless embrace of true hospitality. Here at the First Congregational Church of San Jose, that is what we strive to offer you; a place where you will feel entirely welcomed, no matter who you might be, or what life journey has brought you to our door.

We are a member congregation of the United Church of Christ and, perhaps more importantly, we are an Open and Affirming church community. When we say that everyone is welcomed here, we really mean it. While we embrace a wide variety of beliefs in all aspects of our spiritual and community lives, we tend to be a progressive Christian community. Yet there are many who join us in our worship and mission lives who do not ascribe to this, or any, theological perspective. It makes for a very lively and intentional spiritual community, and one where, we trust, you might find a home.

Whether you join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00, or one of our many educational or community service opportunities, we will be so happy to make your acquaintance, and walk the path with you.
