Adult Forum: Hospitality and the Church

On Sunday, April 15th, following worship, Rev. Tom will lead a conversation/workshop aimed at helping us be more intentional about our practices of hospitality. While this is a conversation most applicable to some of our ministry teams, such as the Diaconate, the Ushers, the Calling Ministry Team, the Welcome Table staff, it is also very appropriate for anyone who wishes to contribute, in any way, to enhancing our practice of hospitality and reclaiming this core Christian value.

  • We will look at such things as the way in which we welcome new families in the worship and ministry life here. What do they experience? What is helpful? What are we not seeing, or doing?
  • We will begin to consider our post-worship fellowship time. Can we enhance this to be a more useful experience for newcomers?
  • For established members: How can our practice of hospitality aid us building more meaningful community for everyone?

This will be just the beginning of this conversation. We will have more opportunities in the coming months, but this is an important beginning, so, if at all possible, please consider joining us for this first discussion.
