“The Greatest Love of All”

“I believe the children are our future

Teach them well and let them lead the way

Show them all the beauty they possess inside

Give them a sense of pride…”

These are the words sung by the late Whitney Houston in her song entitled, “The Greatest Love of All”. As I continue to work and fellowship here at FCCSJ, I get the feeling that a lot of you feel the same way. That the children are our future and that they need guidance now and always to ensure them a greater chance at an endless path.

We have been so blessed by the outpouring of support shown by those who have offered their services regarding the new Curriculum launch in Children’s Ministry. In September alone, we secured enough teachers through the month of December! Amazing! However, now its November (AGH!) and it’s time to refill our list of teachers for the upcoming year. Starting the first Sunday in December and running through Advent, the Children’s Ministry Board will be providing sign-up sheets (complete with sample curriculum so that you can get to know the format) for anyone who would be interested in signing up to teach in 2018. If you’ve already signed up, I’m sure we can fit your name in one more space. If you haven’t ever signed up, what a perfect time to grace our kids with your presence!

We aren’t asking for perfection. We’re asking for presence. To be there for our children and to infuse your own gifts and talents into a wonderful curriculum that just needs your voice behind it! Please consider this as one of the ways you can not only help the children, but to show them that we believe they are our future; and, that they are our Greatest Loves of All.

Love, Rev. Shernell
